Austin Chavarin

Austin Chavarin is an Imperial Valley native and also a founding member of Epic XVIII.

Austin is somewhat of an oddity, being the only musical member in his family, which he attributes to his music-loving, drummer stepfather.

Although he has no formal degree, Austin has dedicated an immense amount of time and focus to learning about music, through attending local community college classes as well as independent studies.

Even though he was unable to attend, Austin takes pride in knowing he was accepted to study music in the beautiful city of Pasadena.

Throughout his life, his musical tastes have evolved from initially listening to rap, to blasting out heavy metal drum beats, to embracing the snobbery of jazz, and most recently reveling in the comradery of ska and punk music.

Outside of music, Austin seemingly has the attention span of a goldfish, going down the various rabbit holes of electronics, web design, video games, and anything else that piques his interest in the moment.
